For the fourth consecutive year Banif Bank (Malta) plc is supporting the President’s Charity Fun Run being held on Sunday 2nd December in aid of L-Istrina 2012. A national event that’s testimony to Maltese solidarity, the annual Fun Run has grown from strength to strength, attracting a record number of 11,000 participants last year alone.

“The Fun Run is an important event for us at Banif,”said the Bank’s CEO Joaquim F. Silva Pinto. “As patrons from its inception, the event is now a staple in the Bank’s calendar. It is an event that mobilises our employees, partners and stakeholders, who all look forward to participating from one year to another. Every year, this great initiative exceeds our expectations, both in terms of participation and in the positive feedback we receive after all is done and dusted.”

Banif Bank subscribes to the noble work of the Malta Community Chest Fund, which manages to reach out to so many deserving causes every year, by bringing the community together in an act of solidarity. The work and annual contributions of the Fund make a significant change in the lives of many individuals and families. Over the past three years the Fun Run has generated hundreds of thousands of euro  for L-Istrina, backed by Banif’s support.

“In the face of challenging social realities our Bank feels it should step up its initiatives and draw upon all our resources available, to extend our support,”continued Mr Silva Pinto. ”Once again the Banif team will be actively involved in this event and our staff will be accepting Fun Run applications at our branches.”

The Bank hopes to lead by example and encourages other people and organisations to come on board this fantastic manifestation of solidarity that brings people from all walks of life together.
