Junior Analyst - Business Analysis Unit

The Bank is seeking to recruit a Junior Analyst to join its Business Analysis Unit.

Who we are

We are a leading financial institution, a key player in the Maltese market and part of a highly diversified multi-national group of companies. Employing a team of 200 employees, the Bank offers a full range of lending and savings solutions to both personal and business customers. 

Key responsibilities

You will be required to:

  • perform all the departmental administrative duties and support the Business Analyst with coordination of daily tasks 
  • support branches and departments in connection with process-related queries 
  • recommend, review and draft processes in line with the organisations strategic objectives with a view to enhance controls, efficiencies and mitigate operational and reputational risks. Processes are to be designed in line with local legislative and regulatory requirements 
  • provide assistance to the line manager and to the Bank's departments/units with a view to adopt and share best practices 
  • liaise with the business analyst and other departments to pin-point probems and/or potential problems prior to their occurrence
  • maintain the Bank's documentation system 
  • coordinate and participate in assigned projects
  • assess internal data report requests
  • evaluate business requirements with a view of potential system development/enhancements, liaising with the Bank's IT Unit 
  • manage the Bank's business continuity plan 
  • project a professional image at all times, through quality of work, conduct and integrity, and 
  • be a catalyst for change. 

Competencies and experience

The potential candidate should also have a positive attitude, be well-organised, with a disposition to learn and a meticulous and team-oriented approach to work.

You must also:

  • hold a degree or diploma in Commerce, Banking and Finance, Management or similar. Having a qualification in project management is considered an asset
  • have sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications 
  • have interpersonal, customer care and organisational skills
  • have strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • have at least 1 year banking experience or in a business analysis role.
