Head of Unit - Credit Recoveries Unit

The Bank is seeking to recruit a Head of Unit to join its Credit Recoveries Unit.

Who we are

Key responsibilities

The selected person would be responsible for the management of the Credit Recoveries Unit, reporting directly to the Head of Department. 

S/he will be responsible for the recovery of non-performing exposures and manages all stages of the recovery process including legal action in liaison with the legal advisors. The selected person shall also be responsible for the following, amongst others: 

  • develop and manage the support team within the Unit 
  • participate in any decisions made in connection with proposals regarding managed debtors 
  • propose facility restructuring to facilitate recovery as well as identifying ways to mitigate risk to the Bank
  • be able to deal with customers of strong disposition 
  • carry out daily monitoring, checking and rectifying of any irregularities in the portfolio, and 
  • representing the Bank in court sittings where recovery warrants legal action. 

Competencies and experience

The potential candidate should have a positive attitude, be well-organised, with a disposition to learn and a meticulous and team-oriented approach to work.

You must also:

  • have a Degree or Diploma in Business Management and/or Banking and Finance
  • have a minimum of 8 years' experience in credit recovery
  • commercial background will considered as an asset
  • be familiar to laws and rules applicable to the function
  • have strong leadership and team development skills.
